As part of our AMOLED friendly app series today we are going to share with you browsers that provide a AMOLED friendly layout for every website(i.e. White Text on Pitch black background).

UC Browser, a prominent browser for android offers a feature that you may have missed. It offers an AMOLED  friendly theme/skin for websites, which colors every website background to pitch black color and the text to white color. It works great unlike most other browsers that offers similar features. The way to activate this feture is a task in itself. The steps to enable this are listed below:

Open UC Browser and click on options menu as shown by the white arrow in the screenshot shown above.

Tap on "Themes" as shown by the white arrow in the screenshot shown above.

Before this step make sure you have a pitch black image in your gallery. If you haven't got one download this or just click a pic with your fingering covering the lens fully.
In the Themes window that pops up tap on "Local Photos" as shown by the white arrow in the screenshot shown above. Then navigate to the location where you saved the pitch black image and select it.
Then select the pitch black image from the list(a white tick mark in a blue circle will appear on the image) as shown by the white arrow in the screenshot shown above.

In the same themes windows navigate to the Backgrounds tab by swiping from right end of screen to left. In the background tab select the circle with letters in white and background as pitch black as shown by the white arrow in the screenshot shown above.

Now navigate back to the home screen of UC browser and enjoy browsing the web in a pitch black background!

Firefox for android also offers a similar feature, that colors website background to pitch black, and the text to white color. It works great for the most part, especially at night. In order to use this theme you are to install an add-on in firefox for android. The theme can be activated by browsing "https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/android/addon/dark-background-light-text/" in firefox and toggling the button to install and apply it.

After enabling the add-on the website will look like the following.

Now all the website you visit will have a pitch black background, enjoy!
If you would like to uninstall or disable an add-on navigate to "Options -> Tools -> Add-ons" and select and disable or uninstall an add-on.
That's all for now!
