Traffic Monitor, Network Speed & Usage on iOSToday we detail the method to force desktop view for all websites on your iPad. For this tutorial we will be making use of Sleipnir Mobile. It is a free browser available for download from the App Store. During our quest for a browser that displays all website in desktop mode on an iPad we stumbled upon this free app called Sleipnir. It accomplishes this by means of User agents. The app itself is snappy and loads websites without any hiccups. We have been using the app for the past few days and are fully satisfied with its functioning. In this post we look at the steps involved in setting the user agent in Sleipnir.
  1. Download Sleipnir Mobile from AppStore.
  2. Open the app and tap of the action button placed next to the address bar in the browser.
  3. Tap on the settings icon at the top left end of the popup screen.
  4. Scroll to the bottom in Settings and tap "Advanced Settings".
  5. In advanced settings tap on User Agent and scroll to the bottom.
  6. Select "Enter new User Agent" then "edit" from popup.
  7. Now paste "Mozilla/5.0 (Windows NT 6.1; Win64; x64; rv:47.0) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/47.0" in the window and hit "Done".
  8. Now close the current open tab by swiping down from the preview of the webpage on the bottom middle part of the screen.
  9. The tabs preview can be seen from the right bottom corner of the screen. Tabs can be grouped together into section. To close all tabs in a section click of "x" on the left end of the section.
  10. Now type in YouTube or any website name in the address bar.
  11. It will take you to the desktop version of the website.
  12. From now, every website you open will be the desktop version of the website.
We got the user agent from Mozilla User Agent help page. For info about ios system icons name visit here.
