Today's post is part of the Transfer files to Fire TV series. Today's post will detail the steps to follow in order to install APKs to your Amazon Fire TV/stick using Wireless File Manager.
Always install APKs from a source known to you. Always prefer to install apps that are available from your TVs appstore.

  1. Install "Wireless File Manager" on your Amazon Fire TV stick. In order to find the app on your TV just say the app's highlighted name on the Voice Remote provided with the TV stick
  2. Open Wireless File Manager on your TV and select Start Wireless File Manager.
  3. Remember, the Fire TV/stick and sender(Android/iOS/Windows device) should be connected to the same WiFi network.
  4. Then a http url will be displaying in the app. Just enter the URL in any browser on any device within your network.
  5. It provides a neat pitch black web interface to Transfer/send files, in our case APKs to fire TV.
  6. In order to upload a file select "browse" and select the APK file to send to TV, then hit "send".
Tip: You can find the sent files in "WirelessExplorer" using the "open file explorer" button.
  7. Remember to ensure that app is running in foreground/background while you are using the app; it is suggested to keep the app open; you can also hit home button to send the app to the background while in use.
  8. After transfer is complete just browse the send file from the list and select "open on tv" next to the apk filename in the list to open the file on your TV.
  9. Once it opens on your TV just hit down arrow through the permissions list of the installing application and then navigate right to the install button.
  10. It may take a while for the transfered apk to install, depending on the size of the apk.
  11. Once installation is complete tap on open to open apk or hit back and select Stop Wireless File Manager and exit the app.
